In South Australia, we seem to be suffering from a serious case of paranoia. If anyone has a crack at the way we do things or our city we put our backs up and televise the ultimate case of Napoleon complex. Are we just like that annoying little yappy Jack Russell dog? It is widely know that many many people have had enough of the arrogance of Mike Rann and Kevin Foley, yet what do we collectively do as a state? We vote them back in for yet another term.
Perhaps we should learn from Victoria, many state the reason for John Brumby's demise is the gross arrogance of the leader and the party. So what do they do? They say sayonara, we do not need that in our state.
Wanting to defend ones own state and protecting its pride is one thing, but at what cost. Learning from others and being able to say, "that is a success, we should try that" is the attitude that will move South Australia and Adelaide into the 21st century.
